Boppa is a party photo booth: guests send selfies that float on the host’s big screen. This page explains, in plain words, what we store and why.

What we store about hosts

Your email address, your name if you give it, and your login (a password we never see in plain text, or your Google sign-in).

Your parties and their settings, and any logo or background you upload.

What we store about guests

The photos guests send, and their name only if the host asks for names.

A short device label such as “iPhone · Safari”, and a random ID kept on the phone, so the host can let a phone in or block it. Guests never create an account.

Who can see the photos

The host sees every photo in their dashboard and chooses what shows on the big screen. There is no public gallery and photos are not searchable.

Photo files are stored at long, hard-to-guess addresses. Anyone who has an exact address can open that file, so hosts should keep the big screen link to themselves.

The people who run Boppa can see photos when needed to keep the service safe, for example to remove content that breaks our terms.

How long we keep it

Photos stay until the host deletes them. Deleting a photo removes the file from storage.

If a screen code is typed wrong, we keep the IP address for a short while to stop people guessing codes.

Cookies and tracking

We use one cookie to remember your language, and your browser keeps your login session. We don’t show ads and we don’t use tracking or analytics cookies.

Services we use

Supabase stores the database, the photos and the logins. Cloudflare runs the website, keeps standard technical logs and counts visits with its Web Analytics, which uses no cookies. The fonts are served from boppa.io itself.

Your choices

Guests can ask the host to delete their photos. Hosts can delete any photo from their dashboard at any time.

We may update this page; the date at the top shows the latest change.
